Dear Friends, Families and Blog-Followers,
Well, it is almost Halloween Parade Day -- please do not forget to pack your children's costumes!!
And , we have surpassed the challenge -- we have read well over 100 books, so far, at School -- congratulations to all of the Butterflies and Puppies -- your certificates and stickers are forthcoming (!!), and, please know that you all have helped to donate one million books to kids less fortunate -- YEAH!!
Today, we read many, many books, including "Clifford's Halloween" by Norman Bridwell, "Inside a House that is Haunted" (a rebus book) written by Alyssa Capucilli with artwork by Tedd Arnold, "Six Creepy Sheep" written by Judith Ross Enderle and Stephanie Gordon Tessel with artwork by John O'Brien, "The Very Busy Spider" (and more) by Eric Carle, "The Very Worst Monster" by Pat Hutchins, "Pajama Time" by Sandra Boynton, "Hush Little Alien" by Daniel Kirk, "Lullabies" (Usborne) and "The Scarecrow's Hat" by Ken Brown, to which Miss Downing added an interactive component, with props!!
In the early morning, the children played "Zingo", and, during activity time our wondrous high school friends planned and assisted with ghost bowling, paper bag and plate monster puppets, trick-or-treat bag decorating and being creative and imaginative with black paper and white crayons and white paper, wax crayons and purple watercolor -- thank you, ladies!!
As well, we spent quite a bit of time outdoors!!
Next week begins new themes, to include the seasonal, outer space and nutrition, and several events are being planned, for the month of November!!
We look very forward to tomorrow's festivities!!!!
Love Miss Peacock XOXO
