Happy New Year 2010! :)

Good Evening,

I am so glad to see everyone today and am anticipating seeing the rest of the children throughout the week.

I had sent an email to everyone with some pictures of our Amaryllis which bloomed as we all left for our winter break. Today we found out that our flowers needs a bigger pot, so we will be replanting our flowers into a bigger pot this week. We all observed the flowers today with magnifying glasses and will continue to describe what we see inside and label all the parts of the flowers, also. :)

I would like to remind everyone that we will be adventuring out into the snow these upcoming days and to please have your child prepared with the appropriate clothing. Please bring any extra clothes, sneakers or slippers for them to change into as they come in from the cold and wetness. Thanks for all of your cooperation. It is much appreciated by the staff and your child.

We are going to be studying about ice, how it forms and watch as it melts in front of our eyes.
Could every family have your child or children pick out a clear (see through )empty container from home and bring it in for our activities, next week. The children will fill it with water outside and leave it over night. Then they will bring it inside and empty it. This will show how ice can form into different shapes and sizes. The children will then perform some experiments and see how it melts. If we could have a container by this Friday, that would be great! :)

Another on going project we have decided to do with the children is build an igloo out of clean Milk gallon containers.

PLEASE WE NEED YOU TO DONATE AS MANY MILK GALLON CONTAINERS AS POSSIBLE THROUGHOUT THE MONTH OF JANUARY.

THANK YOU! :)
XOXOXXO Ms.Downing :)
